Our clients are social, philanthropic and public sector organizations that create positive social change. They work with and on behalf of marginalized communities to address issues of disproportionate access to resources and opportunities, health disparities and social injustice. Through their work, they improve quality of life for all by addressing the over-arching systems and underlying causes that create inequities.
Our clients work in a variety of fields, including:
We partner with our clients to build their adaptive, strategic and leadership capacity.
Our work falls into three interrelated areas:
In reality, these overlap in their objectives and outcomes, and naturally support and reinforce each other. Most of our projects integrate these three areas, although often one or two of them may be the focus of the work.
We find that leadership development — whether through informal executive coaching or mentoring staff — is involved in most of our work. Sometimes it is the focus of an engagement or provided through a retainer arrangement. Leadership development may focus on the executive director and involve one-on-one meetings. Or, it may involve a group of leaders—for example, the board and/or the management team—who engage in a leadership development process at an off-site retreat.
We also provide training and technical assistance to support clients in building their capacity as evaluative learning organizations.
