It’s been nice to have someone I can rely on. I value and trust her. If I have questions, I see her as an advisor. She is a good person to think things through with.

Leadership Development

Our close relationships with clients and attention to capacity building support leadership development during all of our engagements—whether a defined objective or not.

Our formal leadership development engagements, with individuals or management teams, create a safe place where leaders share their concerns and celebrate their successes.

We support leaders in:

  • Reflecting on and facing the reality of their organization’s situation
  • Identifying what’s in their control and what’s not
  • Challenging assumptions
  • Determining priorities
  • Evaluating options
  • Developing and implementing a plan
  • Conducting periodic review and reflection

Individual engagements typically are one-on-one meetings through which leaders receive the support of a coach, confidant, colleague and consultant—all in one. We also support groups of leaders, such as the board and/or the management team through conversations or co-designed retreats.

Examples of this work include:

  • Center for Civic Partnerships Organizational Development Services Executive Director Retreat
  • First 5 San Francisco PreSchool For All (PFA) Advisory Meetings
  • First 5 San Francisco Commission Retreats
  • Marguerite Casey Foundation Program Retreat
  • San Francisco Foundation Program Staff Retreat
  • Northern California Grantmakers Board Retreat
  • Marin County Health and Human Services Division of Aging and Adult Services Retreat
