I Hope I’ll Know

Originally posted on jaradeancoffey.com on November 22, 2020

It’s Sunday, November 22, in the early evening. This has been running through my head for a few months now. It’s kind of an obsessive fear. Rather than it being a critique of others, I landed on a note to self.

The sun over the ocean beyond trees

I hope l’ll know when I have

done enough

said enough

been enough

carved enough space for others.

I hope I’ll know when to

be less

be quiet

step back, aside, or sit down.

I hope I’ll know when to say no,

not me

her

him

them.

And if not,

I hope those that love me will tell me - it’s time.
